LMAO!! :p

I'm sure they have permission to make copies. If you don't like it call and complain and maybe they won't send you copies and just originals from then on.

I doubt such a large company would do something illegal. They probably paid for some sort of a royalty fee to make those copies.

those definately arent copies

they are just legit dvds in soft sleeves

if u can peel off the label on the dvds easily then its a copy but from those pics its most def the legit cds with no original case (which is legal i think)

you can add logo's to stuff.

the local movie rental place does it, it says their name in about 5 different spots on the disc. they arent copies, 100% legit, and just are added on maybe silk screened, or stamped on.

Perhaps Netflix has an agreement with the MPAA or whoever they buy their dvds from to have Netflix printed on the DVDs that they'll get.

Netflix buys lisences not the actual retail dvd, so if it looses one in the mail, I think they can copy to make up for it, or get a replacement.

I rented a movie ("Lan Yu") and it came looking quite generic. It had the title, the disc was red, and it had the Net Flix logo on the right side. The whole thing was silk screened, and the words were not, so it was like a "Cookie Cutter" effect.

I doubt they were able to scrape off the original silk screening to get their name on there.

Netflix is definately doing something weird.

Shouldn't you have contacted them or someone else before posting here based on pure assumptions. Please change your title. Got me excited over nothing.

LOS GATOS, CA (June 12, 2001) ? NetFlix (www.netflix.com), the world's largest online DVD rental source, announced today that it has entered into revenue sharing agreements with the home entertainment divisions of DreamWorks SKG, Twentieth Century Fox, and Universal Studios. Netflix is the first online renter of DVDs to have secured revenue sharing agreements with major motion picture studios and distributors.

They can legally make copies.

It simple, its likely in their revenue sharing agreement. As long as the studios and distributors are getting thier $$$ they dont care. Its called buisness. The studios/distributors aren't losing any money, they are only gaining profit.
