WTF, my phone just stopped working..

I have a Sprint phone (Sanyo 8100) which usually gets perfect reception in my apt and has never "looked for service" as long as I've lived here which is a few months now.

All of a sudden then it's been displaying "looking for service" for about an hour now, which is the first time I've seen it happen in a while..any ideas as to why this may be?

Sprint's service at my house was either roaming or "1 bar"
I switched to verizon
