I had a discussion with my GF (no pix you dirty bastards) and she thinks that pretty girls don't have any advantages in the workplace over guys/non-pretty girls in terms of asking for help.

I mean, come on, us guys all know that if a pretty girl asks a straight guy for help, the guy will more than likely go out of his way to help our out if she asks for it.

Vote in the poll and bring my GF back to reality! 😀

Well, I don't have partiality, but my communications teacher went over several statistics that show that yes, attractive people have a distinct advantage in several aspects of life compared to people that do not fit the stereotypical mold of attractiveness, including receiving aid (whether male or female). There was also statistics showing that if an average man and a perceived beautiful woman ask the same request for help, that the attractive woman is over 17 times as likely to receive aid compared to the man, even when the people being asked for help is made of an equal apportionment of men and women.

I think it sucks that people are that shallow, but that's simply how it is.
 
It sounds like your GF is just oblivious to what goes on in the world...almost ANY MAN will go out of his way to help a pretty lady...and most will even help a not-so-pretty lady as well...

Ok, what she is saying is NOT true. It is amazing what pretty girls can get others to do. Some abuse that, others are grateful nonetheless.

I do not take advantage of people.... but when I ask for something at work, the store, wherever... I am always helped, most of the time without me asking first.

LolaWiz is correct, but "hot" is more appropriate here than "pretty". Hot women who know how to work the attention they get can get guys wrapped around their fingers pretty easily.

I can understand that. It takes a long time to accept ones self and be proud. Confindence is very attractive. She should not be ashamed at all. Perhaps next time she gets embarassed, tell her she should be proud and that you are proud to be with her. Maybe that will help
