It's a somewhat nice day out so i have the windows open and the sliding glass door to my deck open today. Somehow a baby squirrel must have gotten lost because it found it's way into my apartment. I didn't even notice it until i saw my cat acting weird, tearing around the place like a bat out of hell (moreso than usual anyway). So i go into the living room (where the door is) and see this little something moving around, turns out it's the baby squirrel. The thing would fit in the palm of my hand. By now, with me as backup, my cat has come back up and is looking at the squirrel with a weird look on its face. I'm thinking, okay, this is going to get messy. Cats and baby squirrels seem like a bad combination for the squirrel. But no, my cat is TERRIFIED of the thing! She damn dear jumped onto the top of my head when the squirrel seemed to make a move towards us. So eventually i scoop up the squirrel in a basket and carry it outside where i release it.
But damn, a full-grown cat scared by an infant rodent? It's not like it was the rabbit from Monty Python's Holy Grail with razor sharp teeth and mighty fangs....
