I'm about to start a full scan w/VirusScan 7.0 (with latest updates, provided free from UM). I don't have a spyware-finding program, but I'll download Ad-Aware.Originally posted by: Nocturnal

Wow that's weird. Have you scanned for viruses and spyware lately?

Yup, I download them as soon as the little bubble pops up in my system tray, which makes this all the weirder. I practice very safe computing (don't open unfamiliar attachments, don't click "Yes" to INTERNET UPDATE TIME UTILITY AND DEAL FINDER install prompts). I wonder if it's just a one-time thing.Originally posted by: Ime

Windows XP?
You do all the critical updates?

XP Pro, 512 MB RAM, 2.0 GHz processor w/400MHz FSB. It's a Dell Optiplex GX260. I was only running Winamp 2.91, Activesync (for my Axim), and VirusScan, in addition to IE6.Originally posted by: Ime

You and I seem to be running identical systems.
I have Windows XP Pro, VirusScan 7.0 (actually I'm using the 7.1 beta), latest updates. hhmmm...
I'm behind a firewall. Are you?
Another thought, was your computer acting really slow? You might have had a process go flaky.
Had Excel lock up on me once and take all the CPU time. Took forever to get Task Manager open to kill it.
