My system:
t-bird 1.4ghz
512mb crucial ddr
visiontek geforce3
Ibm deskstar 40gb 7200rpm
Soundblaster live! platinum
windows2k sp2 (fresh install), dx8, 12.41 detonators

My 3dmark 2k1 score: 2133 (default settings)

I think this seems low for my system specs. Is it? If so any suggestions to help it out?

well, i'm not saying anything new here but you definately forgot to install drivers...you have a ddr system but you didn't specify which mobo so you either need the:

via 4in1 if it's a kt266 based mobo

amd miniport driver (and the via ide driver if you want, but the win2k driver is just as good) if it's an amd760 mobo

whatever ali drivers (i'm sure there are some) if it's a magik1 mobo

Yeah, I mean, my last score of 7121 under Win2K is pretty poor... 😀

Check your 4-in-1's, throw in the 12.90 dets, etc. A GF3 will get you ~5500 easily under the most default of settings with that configuration.

ok, i did a little more research and i found tht ali has a type of 4in1 driver...take a look at the ali driver page and pick out the best one for you. this page also has a more recent agp driver

Hehe, the difference between my Win2k rig in 3dMark2001 and my Win98 rig is about 30 points. I prefer the Win2k rig anyways, for some reason, the graphics on that machine just look crisper and cleaner than they are in 98. BTW, I shouldn't say rig, I'm dual-booting between the two OS'es on the same machine and they have pretty the exact same driver versions as the other setup.
