I just bought a TOSLink cable to complete my wonderful ghetto home theater system (using Logitech Z-5500's), plugged in the TOSlink cable to my speakers and the TV, and my wife asks what I just did because she has no internet. I started checking things, and it turns out as soon as I unplug the TOSlink cable the wireless comes back. WTF? How the hell is an optical connection causing 2.4GHz interference?

That isn't right. Unless there's some bluetooth or other feature that got turned on by having the connection.

That's what I thought - but leaving everything on and plugging/unplugging the TOSlink cable does it. Nothing else changes. I admit, I could put my router elsewhere, but that doesn't change the notion of an optical connection causing some heavy duty interference.
