For the past 4-5 days, this IP, 207.46.98.71 has been browsing my website. It never leaves the website, but just continually browses around. Also, there are 4 sessions open from the same IP...

A whois turns up this

This just started occuring, and I've never seen such a thing before; anyone know what's going on?

lol, well if you bothered to resolve it, it comes out "msnbot.msn.com"

in other words, its the spider program used for microsofts search engine.

A friend had that same thing pop up a while back and it does indeed appear to be the MSN search engine trying to index the site. The problem was that it was sapping a ton of bandwidth and basically having a field day with his site. So we just blacklisted that IP from the server and boom, no more crappy search engines from Microsoft sucking up bandwidth =)

You can tell quite a bit from someones comments concerning MS. Got something to hide?
Hehehe

You can put a no index file on your webserver to stop the spiders.

Peace!
