I'm sitting here watching cops at 5 in the morning and writing a paper and they just showed some guy running around, most likely drunk, with a brick in his hand. He didn't damage anything, didn't attack the cop, in fact he was running away. The cops jump out of the car hit his arm with a night stick and arrest him. That's bullsh1t if I've ever seen bullsh1t in my life...this is why I hate cops.
Apprently he walked away when the cops asked him to go talk to them...man if I was walking down the street with a brick in my hand late at night and didn't want to talk to a cop thats not my problem...

. . . drunk man wandering around late at night avoiding cops with a brick in his hand . . . there's a safe combination that shouldn't concern anyone!

Yeah he was about to go save someone's life with the brick.

Think about it. He was about to break into a store or rob someone.

That came out all wrong.

Tell me about it. I would have just shot the dumb f-cker. Ever seen what a brick can do to someone's face? Reginald Denny comes to mind.

That cop who had his gun taken away from him and shot to death trying to wrestle with that naked dude who was in the middle of a highway stopping traffic is dead, probably because he was concerned about being accused of using excessive force because the guy wasn't armed, admitted a local black councilman.

I say screw them all, if I were a cop, everyone would get clubbed who didn't do exactly as I say when I say it. Its not worth getting killed just to satisfy some anti-police idiots who hate cops...until they need one.

CrazyDe1, I agree with you. Cops scare the crap out of me. There's nothing set in place to control them when there's just you and no witness.

Isn't it perfectly legal to refuse to talk to a cop?

/me stomps around angrily with jar of peanuts that could be used as a weapon

Public intoxication is against the law in most states.

If you're the subject of an investigation, you are obligated to cooperate with police only the extent of identifying yourself upon request and doing as they instruct you to do insofar as not constantly reaching into your pockets when they've told you not to or to keep your hands where they tell you to keep them.

Running when you see the police isn't a "crime", but it does in fact give them all of the probable cause they need and then some to chase you down to find out why you are running from them. 99.9% of the time, if you're running from the cops, its not because you just had the spontaneous urge to take in a little exercise.

However, AFTER a police officer has initiated a dialogue with you and requested something of you such as your identification or just to stay where you are, yes it is in fact a crime to run from the police.

Were you born like...yesterday or something?

People only learn "law" from TV these days.

What if it was your brick instead of my brick?

Bricks don't grow on trees nowadays. I'm just glad that brick snatcher was caught...:D
