WTF: LAW SUIT AGAIN

In Jan 4 2000, I was rear ended and got bumped into the car in front of me
i had no physical damage to my car except for a license plate in-print on my back bumper the size of a dime.

My insurance determine that i was not at fault - no kidding

now this guy file for a 1 million dollar lawsuit against me and the guy behind me

whats my next step. I thought the insurance company handles this whole thing

wtf is wrong with these people sueing people left and right

For... what? Medical? How hard did you hit him?

Let the insurance company take care of it. Everything should be well documented... and if you were determined to be 'not at fault', you should be in the blue.

I was idle and waiting for the light and the guy was in front of me also idle, the taxi smash me pretty hard prob 15-25 mph.

And the only damage was a small imprint of the license plate?

This is ghettotastic, I'm tired of this crap of people sueing over everything under the sun...

Let the Judge throw this case out, I don't see it's even worth $20.00

yeah, thats what the insurance company put on the report too, do I even need to goto court for this crap ?

it has summoned by supreme court of the state of ny

doesn't the insurance company just handle this ?

don't worry, your insurance will handle it. from your situation, it sounds like you and the person in front of you were 0% negligent whereas the guy who bumped you is 100% responsible. his lawyer most likely had to include you in the lawsuit just to figure out how the negligence should be allocated. plus, 1 million dollars is just silly, there's no way they'll collect....

my first accident while i was in college after thinking i failed a class was 3 million and i end up with a b+

fricken a

everyone that file a fake insurance claim should be sent to iraq and wait for our bombs to drop

$1 million. Motherf**ker. Hopefully your insurance company will deal with this in short order. Once it's all wrapped up write the guy a letter calling him an ass, wimpy bastard, who wanted to waste tax payers money because he's too lazy to get money honestly and tell him you hope he continues on in this rut of nothingness that is his life until it ends.

i'm counter-sueing for wasting my time and for emotional distress

Heres a penny for your thoughts and a nickle for your time. You were emotionally distressed to begin with!

You will need to get a hold of your insurance company, and give them the summons. They will then contact that person's lawyer/attorney and require them to deal through them not you.

Your first step is to contact the insurance company and get the summons transferred to them.

But if he has good slimeball attorney, you will get served with 3 or 4 summons to different levels of the court system, just to drum up the paperwork cost.

luckily i decided to work 7 days a week and never be home.. hahah... theyll need to get me before 7am or after 11 pm

A taxi hit you? Wouldn't that company need to be involved as well? I mean it was a company driver who hit you, not just some average joe (that's a construction worker and makes 18k/yr 😛 )

I feel for you. I was sued in 1998 for scratching this lady's car door. I tried to get around here, but I cut it too close. She testified that her car didn't even move, but she ended up having surgery on her wrist because of the accident. Of course she found a doctor who would testify that the accident caused her wrist injury. Funny thing was, she had the same surgery on her other wrist 10 years earlier. The insurance company settled it for 36,000, but it took about a year. No, we don't need tort reform....🙁
