WTF kind of insect is this ATOT bug experts!

Pic one

Pic 2

Pic three

Son found it on the trash can and it didnt like having its picture taken. Kept looking as though when I was going in for the close up it would hunker down and ready to jump. Because of such this is the best I could do.

Anyway never saw anything like it and just wanted to see if anyone here knew what it was so my son and I could look it up.

Kinda looks similar to an assasin bug or a stink beetle. Maybe the same family or genus or something. I'd start there.

I never found out what it was, either.

I wouldn't let a bug crawl on me, if I didn't know what it was exactly. Not very safe.

That is exactly the bug we found. Not a stink bug, we do have them here, but if I was to get that close we would of def got stucnk out. I hate them and the do stink to high heaven when bothered too 😱

Dont think it is a aphid either. The back end of the bug is almost completly flat. The pics I took are in high res so if you want can zoom in pretty good on it before it will start to pixilate.

I say it's an aphid of some sort - http://www.thefarm.org/charities/i4at/lib2/p205-8.gif

Ahpids have many different body variations, depending on the kind. Nothing more than a common garden bug.

Aphids are tiny things.

I think this is a kind of assassin bug.

Wheel Bug Nymph perhaps.

That and the assassin bug is pretty much spot on except for the legs are a little different. Thanks now we have something to go on to get us the right one.

That bug is sweet. Keep in in a jar, find a preying mantis and watch them duel to the death. That's how we solved these situations in the country as kids.
