Here's my ultimate chain of sub goodness:

Lennys>Potbelly>Jimmy Johns>Subway>Roly Poly>Quiznos

Ever since moving from the South I have to put up with the North's excuse for food, which is why I make a trip back to Memphis at least once a year for Southern food (fish, ribs, sandwiches, etc). Yeah, it's pathetic, but I'm a guy who likes his food.

I was a at hotel in the Chicago area last year and a pizza place that was only 2 miles away said we were out of their range and wouldn't come. Some places just don't understand how to get customers and make money.

I went to JJ's for the first time today. What an overrated, disgusting sandwich. Seriously. I'm normally fairly forgiving of such places, but this was downright horrible. It's marginally better than Subway, if at all.

The sandwiches are pretty decent, regardless of what the haters would have you believe.

If you have jaws of a rat and can gnaw on the rock hard and tough crap they call bread, sure, its not bad.. but its overpriced and they dont give you much meat.

I love Jimmy Johns, I go there a couple times a week for lunch. I like their wheat sandwich bread, and the italian loaves are good too. Maybe you crunchy bread people are just getting really old stuff. Mine is pretty busy and its always fresh and soft. Lots of meat on the Club sandwiches too.

My bread was soft and it was still nasty.

I hate to pull out the "there are better sandwiches locally", but seriously... the quality difference is so huge that there just is no reason to seek out a JJ's.

JJ's is awesome. And on a college campus or a busy bar area they stay open til 4.
