i was doing some tweaks and i realized that my hard drive was running at pio instead of udma i have tried many thing s anyone have a sure way for it to work?

The DMA control should controlled by the VIA IDE driver, and really should have nothing to do with Windows XP being buggy. Have you loaded the newest one? Have you installed the XP service packs?
 
You can always force the switch from 0 to 1 in the registry. Apply the fix then reboot. Voila, you have UDMA mode.
