WTF. People are FVCKING disgusting for not helping the poor girl.
Kids are WEAK. Most kids would not stick up for anything and stuff like this happens. Sad but true. You get people attacking others in public and NO ONE goes to help. People are just scared.
Not that suprised these kids just watched and did nothing.
I would have done something as I stand up for things but I know how to handle myself also. If I didn't I probably wouldn't also...or try and myself beat...and you have crazy laws where if you beat on these kids are you are likely to be busted yourself....
If these kids are guilty I hope they get what is coming to them. Bunch of scum bags.

These kids need to be taught and understand what responsibility means. Obviously that school has some issues and at least two sets of parents need help too.

This is messed up...
Ever hear of Kitty Genovese? She was beat to death in the 70's by her jackass of a boyfriend while sixteen or so of her neighbors listened. Same concept, just like you are more likely to get assistance on a road where there are fewer cars.
If you've taken intro Psych you'll have heard of her and know exactly what I'm talking about...

Yeah right. At that age, you'd be standing around watching, gaping in awe. Like MadCowDisease said, these sort of things happen alot. Its a groupthink related thing...Same thing happens when kids fight at school. Noone ever tries to break it up.

Took it 4 year ago but don't remember the story. Seems like a similar situation though, and I believe that theory to be true.

Hindsight is 20/20. Stuff like this happens all the time - parents hitting their kids in public spaces, people do nothing and ignore it...what's so stunning is that the parents and teachers did nothing.

What makes you so sure they were all boys? I doubt it. There were probably many girls as well. I remember one of those big taped high school fights... all the particpants were girls and there were people of both genders watching. This doesn't surprise me though, school is a pretty tough place.
I wonder if any of you would really do anything if you were a kid in this situation.

If you dare to compare parents disciplining their children to this abomination posted in the OP, you are screwed up in the head.

I did it before I would do it again. It was not the same situation but I help some kid out by helping him fight 5 kids that were after him. Just because he was albino. I got some good licks in. Got my ass kicked too but at least I helped out long enough to get some help from security.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A 16-year-old disabled girl was punched and forced to engage in videotaped sexual acts with several boys in a high school auditorium as dozens of students watched, according to witnesses.
Authorities are investigating and no charges have been filed in the alleged attack last month at Mifflin High School. Four boys suspected of involvement were sent home and have not returned to class.
Also, the principal, Regina Crenshaw, was suspended and will be fired for not calling police, school officials said. And three assistant principals were suspended and will be reassigned to other schools.
Crenshaw had no comment Tuesday.
The girl was forced to perform oral sex on at least two boys, according to statements from school officials, obtained by The Columbus Dispatch.
Part of the alleged assault was videotaped by a student who had a camera for a school project.
School officials found the girl bleeding from the mouth. An assistant principal cautioned the girl's father against calling 911 to avoid media attention, the statements said. The girl's father called police.
Her father said the girl is developmentally disabled. A special education teacher said the teen has a severe speech impediment.
