What kind of an eye do you expect the parents to be keeping on the daughter? At 12 I was allowed to leave the house for hours to go around on my bike with friends, and I would imagine that if the daughter really liked the creep, she would have no problem hiding the relationship for months.

Op, have the parents tried contacting the media?

Times have changed. Kids are becoming more and more slutty and heartthrobers. alot of them talk about wanting to fuck movie stars and singers, they wear make up (way too much), and they dress like sluts

A 12 year old isn't old enough to give consent to this type of thing, if you are cool with a 12 year old, what about a 10 year old, or even a 6 year old. Seems to be you are ok with pedophiles.

So if a 9 year old gave "consent" then you would be cool with it too it seems.

This isn't a case of teen sex, a 12 year old isn't even a teenager. You seem to fine with a 19 year old a and a 6 year old too then.

No one has mentioned 9 y/o's or 6 y/o's - except you. Why do you want to turn this into a discussion about small children? Are you a pedophile?

The mentality between a 12 and 9 isn't much different. A 12 year old is a small child. The ones here who says it O.K to have sex with a 12 year old are pedophile, so you are the one who is pedophile.

So tell me now, what is a good age to have sex with little girls,

Is 9? or is 10?, or maybe 11?, tell me. What age do you lust after, sicko.

Actually, a 9 y/o and a 12 y/o are worlds apart. Clearly, you don't know much about children.

I didn't say anything about it being good to have sex with little girls - and no one else did, either. But you've made multiple accusations in this thread.

What are YOU hiding?

No they are not, people in here who say sex with 12 year old are pedophiles. FYI most 12 years can't even have children yet. You clearly know nothing about children, to say sex with 12 year old is ok.

The question is what are YOU hiding, sicko.

Quote someone who said it was okay.

Everyone I quoted said it ok since she gave "consent". You agreed with them too, so you said it is O.K too.

More unsubstantiated accusations. You're so anxious to point fingers at other members and an entire state, it's clear you have bigger issues.

Please seek some professional help.

Kids have always been curious, but I don't see what that has to do with my post. I'm just saying that I don't see the parents being to blame with the information provided.

They plainly don't have much information on how that child is living her life. There are times where they apparently don't know where she was or what she was doing. That's negligence.

lol. Does that apply to all children, and to any case in which something bad happens to the child without the parents knowing of it? Parents can clearly be wrong if they think they can trust their children to always be truthful, but that doesn't make them negligent. 12 is old enough to give children some freedom and leeway to make their own decisions; if I was 12 and told my mom that I was going out biking with Michael and would be back before 4PM, I don't expect her to tail me and ensure I didn't leave the park at 3PM to blow Luke before I needed to go back home.

By the age of 12, a parent should know whether that kid abuses trust or not, whether they can handle any kind of responsibility or not. That parent knows whether the kid is talking to them about what they do every day, what their friends are doing, and what the kid's hope and dreams are.

Any parent that doesn't is negligent.

EDIT: Maybe it was 14 yoa, i digress
Doublethink:
If a 14 year old commits a crime everyone says they know what they were doing, and should be held responsible for it.

If a 14 old has sex they are not responsible for it; they didn't know what they were doing.

I think shotgun marriages are better than throwing people in jail for statutory rape.

How are they supposed to know that? Maybe the girl in the op is a perfect little angel aside from her tryst with a dude 50% older than her. This is particularly likely if the 18 year old used her trust to encouraging lying to her parents. Now, if it turns out that this girl was never at home and her parents just let her hang out at the mall alone all day, you have a point, but you're jumping to conclusions. I mean, the kid's hopes and dreams? Putting aside lofty aspirations of being an engineer and building a hoverboard, all I wanted out of life at that time was time to bike, time to play video games, and time to nef.

A 14 year old with an 18 year is super creepy and weird, but I wouldn't want to classify it as rape.

A 10 year old with an 18 year old is super creepy and basically pedophilia.

A 12 year old is borderline, depending on maturity level. It's totally creepy and disgusting, but I have a hard time wanting to classify it as rape.

I've been running it through my head since this thread popped up, and I think that's pretty close to my feelings on it.

I like what The Daily Show said about violence - they showed a clip of a new video game, the latest Mortal Kombat, I believe. It showed a woman being torn in half.
"The U.S. Supreme Court determined, 7 to 2, that the State of California has no interest in restricting the sale of this game to children, but, if while being disemboweled, this woman were to suffer perhaps a nip-slip – regulate away."

Violence on TV? Yeah, whatever. Go watch Stargate. They usually only gun down maybe a dozen Jaffa now and then.
Just watch out, in case anyone starts making out, or showing some skin. Seeing that kind of stuff could really traumatize someone.

At least in some societies, people get really weird when sex is involved.

Yes. The word 'miscommunication' doesn't exist. It is a misnomer. Particularly between parents and children. Pubescent children never lie to their parents. The parents in the op's story were probably easing their daughter into a life of sexual slavery. Everyone knows this.

So you're saying that kids lie all the time, but these parents were somehow unaware of this? Seriously?
