WTF is wrong with my Gmail account!

Granted, this doesn't bother me much because Gmail correctly identifies almost everything as Spam, so it never gets downloaded into Outlook, and the few that do get through are identified as Junk E-mail in Outlook, but still...my account currently gets almost 60 spam emails a day. Right now I have over 1700 in there and it's set to delete them automatically every 30 days.

My email address is only on normal places on the internet, for example in the profiles of my accounts. What's wrong here and can I do anything about this?

Yeah, I've got 2043 spam messages in my email, but I have 2 or 3 accounts forwarded to that address as well. But gmail is pretty good about filtering out the spam. I only get maybe 2-3 per day.

Is this normal for an email address you use for practically everything? Because other addresses that I use far less frequently, such as my school and work addresses, I get 0 spam in.

Yes, it does.

Never use your email address in Usenet. This includes posting something with your gmail account as it doesn't mangle it enough. Never join a discussion forum or portal site (bf2 clan, eq clan) that display your email. There are many bots out there that scan the web 24/7 and fill databases with emails.
