WTF is wrong with my copy of Halo??!?!?!?!?! (NEW ISSUE LOOK AT LATEST POST)

Ok I got my copy today. I preordered it from Game Stop arrived today. Anyway I installed it and that went fine. I start the game. All is good

First time I start it up I go into settings and turn on EAX and make the sound settings at High
Also place the res at 1024x768 turn off v-sync... also mess with controls a bit

I go to hit OK to go back to the main screen and the game locks up. Whole comp is frozen. I have to hard reboot. it does this the next time also. When I do the exact same things.

After like the 3rd reboot I start the game again and I get the. Halo didn?t shut down properly thing. So I booted it into safe mode. I changed my settings and it was fine so i quit it and restarted so I could change the res higher then 800x600 which is the highest safe mode allows.

this time when i go to load the game i get this.

WTF is going on. So I restarted again cause the comp froze. I then uninstalled halo and game spy. Cleaned out the registry and reinstalled. Now when i start the game it does that ever time.

Someone tell me what?s the fvck is happening
The Beta ran fine on my comp

I have a AMD Xp1700+ @ 1600MHz
1 gig PC 27000
Nvidia Gforce TI4600

it should be working!!!!!!!!! im so pissed

I dont care how crappy you think it is thats fine. i like it and i want it to work.

why woudl it. every other game works fine and it almost worked at first. and the beta ran fine on it

ill try that i tried turning dual mon off and that did nothing i got the same thing

turn CPU to normal everything at normal defaults. still doing it

WTF?! I would say video card, but that can't be the problem. Man, I'd hate to say this; I would call up the b!tches at Msoft. I would see what they would say.

i thought that also but its not over clocked its running stock. ran the beta fine yesterday. im gonna try uninstalling and reinstalling the vid drivers. then someones getting a phone call and its not gonna be fun

Gearbox released an unfinished game. Wait and see is you best bet IMO. I wanted to game to be good too but its a POS. Sorry man :(

im running teh latest dets from nvidia

but wuy would teh sound drivers make it lock on startup

LOL...2 years ago everyone was all about "why the hell would I buy an Xbox when in 3-6 months I can play it on a PC at higher res and with better graphics and keyboard and mouse pwn!!!"

Everyone who was part of that bandwagon, I'd like to see you pwn with your keyboard + mouse now, running at 640x480 with barely 30fps and lockups and gfx hell...

im still saying that becuase, although i dont care about playing halo, x-box still blows and is too much money not worth paying.

alright i got it working after uninstalling it then reinstalling it and patching it. I have to give props to my bro GlitchNy for findin the patch. i suggest you all install it

I would just like to point out that I run Halo at 1280x1024x32 with AA and AF at 60+fps... and that was the BETA!

Get a clue.

I tried that game.. damn it sucks... looks like crap, weapons are lame, monsters are lame.. consoles can have it.
