I just replaced a drive on my comp with a DVD drive and now windows wont boot up without going into safe mode. When I go into device manager it shows the drive that was just installed but not my CD-Rom that I still have installed too. I dont know what to do..I cant install the drivers because It wont let me in safe mode and I've run out of ideas..does anyone know what went

Have you tried disconnecting the dvd-rom drive if that's when all your problems started?
Have you checked the jumpers on the back of the drive?
What does the BIOS indicate about which is Master/Slave?

Well, if the drive shows up properly in the BIOS that's good.
If you have the jumpers on the drive set correctly ... that's good.
Now, did you check the PIO/DMA modes for it? Could that possibly cause some problems? Otherwise, I don't think you need to install any real drivers for it.

In Administrative Tools\Computer Management\Device Manager
make sure the Primary & Secondary Channels are all set to [DMA When Available] instead of PIO. Note that you should reboot after changing it to DMA.
