WTF is wrong with DC traffic cops?

I'm just whining here but i come home to find a letter from Dc traffic cops.
It's got a pix of my car caught on camera doing 64mph on DC295 SE with a posted speed limit of 50mph.
If you live in DC, you know everyone goes WAY faster than the posted speedlimit.
On top of that, it was at 5:23am ...
I really hate this since at this moment right now, i know 98% of the people on DC295 are going faster than 64mph...
No numbers to call or anything...i just have to send $50 bucks for driving slower than the old lady that was going 70 like everyone else...This blows.

Don't send it. They can't fine you without offering you a chance to contest it. And unless it was hand delivered or came certified mail, they can't even prove you ever got it.

im from the area and i can empathize with the OP. wasnt there a class action lawsuit filed against DC because of its totally unfair traffic fining practices or whatever?

i dont know what to do but i feel your pain

parking tickets are left on cars every day and those count. they cant prove you got it either.
 
Parking and speeding tickets are the Districts way of raising funds for the worst run and most corrupt city in the known universe. 😀

Cop that I knew, took a picture of the ticket in some secure place on the car. It worked...

ACLU had a big thing about this in Hawaii when they did this crap there...

Very hard for the city to get a conviction unless they get, at the very least, a picture that can clearly identify you as the driver...

I went to college in DC, and I can identify. It's well known that almost every person driving on that road is doing way over the limit. They can't realistically expect you to have been doing a different speed, nor does it make sense to give everyone tickets.

Anyway, sucks to be you. Maybe you can lead a campaign to have the speed limit raised.

If you raised the speed limit they would have to fix all the potholes and the fences along the side of the highway so people don't try to cross. 🙂
