I'm looking for a notebook and these retards have several advertised on the site that aren't available for purchase there or in the store. Why would they even bother putting it up there then???

GRRRRRR....

maybe there are plenty notebooks in the other stores?

i mean, they can't pull a product from adverts just cause one store is out of them.

oh wait, they might be pulling the bait and switch tactic on you.

Expecting Best Buy to have good customer support AND the products you want in stock? I hate to break it to ya, but it ain't gonna happen.;)

Make sure they stocked enough, have them check their computers. If they didn't supply the advertised amount, claim you work for the state department and say that bait and switch is illegal. They must provide something equal at the same price.

I guess you didn't read the thread. He states that they have notebooks on their "site" but they are not in the store. Logistically, it's not reasonable for Best Buy or any other store to carry each SKU listed on their website. They may only have a small quantity of a particular notebook in their distribution warehouse. Very few customers purchase lab tops so it's unpractical to carry every model in each store.

actually you have it wrong aswell kent. The laptop is advertised on there website, but says with it that it is not available for deliver or store pickup. I guess according to some of you its unreasonable for me to actually be able to purchase things from a retailer(and the manufacturer too for that matter), even if its back-ordered. I was however able to find the same model (toshiba 3005s304) at powernotebooks.com and circuit city.

on an unrelated note, my new optical mouse is possessed...

Well now that you actually stated the issue instead of just throwing a flame statement out. There probably is a good reason why they are not wanting to take backorders on that particular item. What would be worse, not being able to buy it now, or finding out in 3 months that your backorder will not be filled because the store was not able to get any more in stock?

You've got a point there, but why leave it up if its impossible to buy? That was my main point. It's pointless.

I was referring to advertised models, where they have "Minimum xx per store". I found that buying notebooks or other expensive equipment on BB.com to be less than satisfactory.

The flyers are planned for 4-6 weeks in advance based on anticipated delivery of prodcuts and information from the manufacturer.

The store may not know until the last minute (Sat night) that the items advertised in Sun flyer do not arrive on the truck.
