I serious hate this crap. It's rude and makes a mess esp. on popular nights at a restaurant.

This morning I was going into the restroom and this guy comes out, looks both ways and then just throws a papertowel on the ground and starts to walk off.

I say dude WTF you doing. He told me he didn't want to touch the door.

I said get that towel and throw it in a can then. He picked it up and took off with it.

Is it too hard to carry the towel to the next trash can you see or are you just embarrassed you are such a bitch that's afraid they may catch something from a door?

Unfortunately, people don't wash their hands after they do their business. But dropping the towel on the floor is fooking lazy.

Noobs. You're supposed to prop the door open with your foot and toss it back in the trash can. Or if that's not possible, put it in the trash outside the bathroom. Or use your sleeve to open the door.

Edit: I want to make it clear that I don't do this...

I always use a paper towel to open the door on the way out, and drop it off in the next cubicle I pass.

Some pricks throw it behind the bathroom door once they have it open enough and can stop it with their foot.

I do this all the time. If there is a trash can next to the door, then I'll throw it away. If not, it is thrown onto the floor. Janitor's/Management will eventually get the hint, and a trash can might be placed near the door.

If Im at work though, I'll take the paper towel back to my office and throw it in the trash. But at a public place, I am not going to carry around a paper towel until I find the nearest trash can.

Why do I do it? Becuase many people dont wash their hands in the bathroom. Will I catch anything?...No. Does it matter?...no. I dont want my hands touching the same things that someone else's hand touch, especially after they've held their johnson or taken a crap.

And why is it any of your business? I really doubt that you "told that guy to pick it up". If that really happened, Im positive you would face some serious confrontation.

I use a paper towel to open public bathroom doors (especially in restaurants) because I don't have much faith in people washing their hands.

I then place said paper towel in the nearest garbage can & wouldn't consider throwing it on the floor.

You guys are babies. How can you handle money if you can't touch a door handle? Do you know where those bills have been?

You make such a big deal about not touching the door handle in a restroom but do you wash your hands before eating your fast food after you pay with cash? I'd say that cash you were handling is more dirty than the restroom door handle. There could have been bird poop on your car door handle. You gonna wash after touching that?

The real question is what do people do when there are no paper towels at all but only the air dryers?

Sorry but there's no excuse for that. If you don't want germs when touching doors, carry some hand sanitizer around and use that when you are back at your seat/desk.

It sends the message to the cleaning staff that if they don't want to be picking up towels off the floor, they should put the trash can near the door.

What makes you think that the bathroom door is any dirtier than the next doorknob you touch? Or that stack of papers the guy next to you hands you? Or the boss's hand?

if it were me being the inconsiderate one just throwing my shit on the floor, then John Q Public tells me to pick it up, i'd ignore them. i mean you've already proven you're a jerk, so you might as well be aloof, too.

has it occurred to you, that he could be management and this happened at work?

would you get into 'serious confrontation' with a supervisor?

What I'm wondering is how they are able pull their pants up with their yet microbe free hands.

I mean walking around knowing that their pants, belt, and belt buckle are essentially encrusted with e-coli, must cause such a level of stress in their lives that they must ponder whether life is worth living.

If a there was no trash can in nearby, and I am at a restuarant, the paper towel gets tossed on the floor. And in all honesty, if a supervisor or anyone else asked me to pick it up, as much as I do not like confrontation, I would not pick it up. In fact, it would actually piss me off if someone asked me to pick it up.

It never ceases to amaze me how self-centered some people can be. Is it really that hard to throw away a fucking paper towel? I'm going to start punching you in the face each time I see you.. maybe you'll get the point and stop being an asshole.
