This new black belt I just bought keeps rubbing off its "blackness" onto my pants !!! ARGH! So annoying!! Is there anything I can do, or should I throw the thing away?

have you gone swimming in it? that can cause the color to come off.
what kinda pants are you wearing with it? leather dye comes off on my jeans all the time.
 
No, it hasn't been wet at all.

I've had leather belts that bleed when wet before, but this is a NEW belt and I'm wearing them with khaki pants.

So annoying.... it's not like it's a cheapy belt either... thing cost me $35
