Needed the items by: 8/30/2005

Ordered: 8/26/2005 11:19:18 AM, credit card charged moments later

On 8/29/2005 7:57 *AM* sent out email about needing the shipping address changed. At this point the items were still not packaged.

On 8/29/2005 8:44 *PM *which is over 12 hours since I sent my email asking for the shipping address to be changed, the items are finally packed up and at the fedex location.

Is that crappy service or is it just me?

I would have thought that if I ordered it on the 26 I would have had it by the 30th. Only if it was after the 30th did I need it at a different address.

Basically needed it at a different address because they were taking so long.

You changed the shipping address 3 days after ordering and you're complaining?? Sorry you might not get too much sympathy here.

That's just it, the shipping address NEVER GOT CHANGED!

Hell if it did then I wouldn't have a problem.

Try calling next time I guess; I can certainly agree though that people seem to be having more issues with the Egg of late.

edit: btw you never mentioned the address was not changed until your last post

Sorry yeah, I requested a shipping change because I won't be at the address that they're shipping to until next Thursday (talking about in Sept), and the package will be sitting outside throughout labor day weekend.

Did you actually expect it to go out on the 26th? that was a Friday so unless you picked "rush order", there was like a 10% of it going out on the 26th. Also If i was so important to have that shipping info changed why didn't you call them, can't leave that to an email that may or may not get read. Maybe they don't alter shipping info based on random E-Mails. Next time think ahead when estimateing shipping and call on important stuff.

If it's that big of a deal that you get your item immediately then maybe you should go out to a store and support your local businesses?

You should have called. I had an order placed and I asked specifically if they could ship it out during that day because they said they weren't sure if they'd be able to. I asked nicely hand said that we had an emergency and needed the computer by Friday. I choose overnight shipping and this was on Thursday morning. Sure enough they shipped it out Thursday and it arrived nicely on Friday, everything.

I am not sure what is the point here , but I have noticed that Newegg, takes about a day more to ship you stuff if you pay thorugh paypal rather than with your CC, and lately I have been noticing that their service is becoming slower than it used to be hmm !? and BTW rush order never worked for me, it's BS hey pay us more and we might rush it for ya but don't count on it WTF ?

Whenever one places an order that has any special circumstances, its always a good idea to call, which goes for any retailer, and especially with a retailer that values the customer's safety like newegg. They require the same bill to/ship to address for normal quick transactions because thats the big 1st step in preventing fraud. When the customer has a different ship to address, the customer should call in to specify and find out what steps are needed to make the order go through smoothly, because depending on the CC used, they may even have to resort to manual confirmation with the issuing banks, which takes longer.
I used to have a ship to address at college that was different than my billing address back home, I either ordered well in advance of needing the parts, called cust. service for assistance, or called in to add my current address onto my bank's records. The latter which is the best solution. Never had a problem with them.

I also placed an order at around 8:30am on the 26th (Friday), but it wasn't shipped until the 29th (Monday). I guess they had a lot of weekend business.

If you need stuff shipped out the same day, you can use rush processing for $3 or so. If it's so important that you needed it by some particular day, you should have paid the minimal rush fee.

As for changing the address, you can't do that after it's shipped (which by the time you sent your email it probably had).

In other words, you have no room to complain.

Try paying the $2.99 next time :p

And of course PayPal orders take longer because someone has to physically match up the PP payments with your order to validate it. Try using a credit or bank card next time instead.
