It's been $1.20 - $1.25 per liter here in Montreal for a while now. Thankfully I don't need to drive to get by.

Yep, instability in the Middle East leads to speculative rise in oil price. This is regardless of whether oil flow is disrupted.

I love my car but I'm so glad I take the bus to work. I could own a 1 ton truck and this stuff wouldn't hurt me that much :D

I thought the same thing just driving home today, although it was "merely" a twenty cent hike here.

Pushing $3.50 here as well.

Maybe McOwen was right...the "Drive for Five" is still alive.

I use my feet or my 21 speed bike to get around. When I need a car, I borrow one. I even have a non owners liability policy that costs $19 a month.

But yes, gas averaged $2.80 around here when oil was $75 a barrel. Now its average $3.09 in DFW with oil at $100. :(

ps. My theory is that gas will hit $4.00 again this year.

Is it still GW's fault that prices are high?

Yes, he started the war that's still going on, FUCK HIM. Gas was cheap as shit when Clinton was in office, gonna take years to clean up the mess Dubya made. Again

FUCK HIM

Brent Crude at $111, and expected to reach $120 by the end of Feb if the ME still in turmoil.

about $50 to fill up a subcompact at that price which, in the winter will be lucky to deliver 400km of travel. awesome!

I drive 20,000 miles a year for work. Glad I have a Civic!

Got a new job in October. Drive about 4,000 miles per year now and traffic is always light (both ways) because of the early start (6:00am) and early off (2:30pm) time. 7.7 miles each way. 2003 Intrepid and average about 24 to 25mpg or so. About one tank of gas per month for work (more if used elsewhere).

As for oil/gas....big oil has won. We don't learn the lessons that we need to get off the stuff and seriously develop something else (Brazil learned and did something about it starting over 30 years ago - we should have done this also). I would pay $5.00 per gallon of alternative if we made it here and could tell the middle east to stick their oil up their ass (and then charge them $100 per bushel of food stuffs).

LOL! :p

I miss my $0.499 per gallon of regular at the end of 1998.

Lucky bastard. I am getting less than 20mph here in Seattle while driving a 2000 Honda Civic EX.
