I remember they used to be different nowadays...you'd actually get a fortune, but now you either get advice or brownnosing.

My old personal favorite was "You are going to have some new clothes. :)" (Yes, smiley included)

But right now, I just got the greatest fortune cookie message ever.

"Pass this to the person of your left."

I always wondered...who the hell writes these things? Now I know.

Engrish speaking potheads.

I got one the other day that said "Kiss the person sitting beside you." I was sitting beside a 35 year old guy I work with... but, I must obey the fortune.

the weirdest one I ever got was, "god gave you one face, and you choose to make yourself another"...

Haha, I'm glad I'm not the only one who's noticed this. My friend and I go to the local buffet once a week for lunch and he actually got one that said "You like competitive sports." That's the best one we've seen yet.

What I'm more sick of is how people ALWAYS relate fortune cookies to Chinese culture, when it has nothing to do with them at all!

Yeah, most fortunes are not fortunes at all. I hate the brown-nosing ones.

I'd rather have bad fortunes (your heart will fail tomorrow, leaving your children orphans) than no fortunes, dangit.

QFT. Restaurants only started offering "authentic american fortune cookies" in China relatively recently.
