Do the people who write it seem to think they have a grasp of the English language or do they just not care? These people are hired to write and translate Asian languages into English. You would think they would hire people who can actually speak English. It just baffles my mind..... 😕

 
Obviously everyone should just speak one language. to be fair, we'll make it bantu clicking so that way no one really has an edge over anyone else...except the bantus. and we can just kill them with guns while they fight with spears.
 
Heh.. I interviewed a guy the other day whose resume had some Engrish in it. We did not hire him (for a variety of reasons, not just specifically that).
 
I think the issue is that American English is very difficult to speak and write fluently, if you havent studied it and been around it a lot. As a bonus, there is not going to be a method to translate verbatim every single phrase you might run across.

well I know that in Japan, products/services are advertised using English strictly as a marketing ploy -- it's considered 'cool' to use English text. The actual content or appropriateness of the words is secondary.

Which is why a clothing store called 'Violence Jack-Off' exists there, and little kids can wear T-shirts that say 'Spread Beaver' and no one really cares 🙂
