WTF is up with DFI not supporting their LanParty Ultra MoBo's

I have some kiddies who wanna lanparty with strong PSU's but I read This Diddie and informed them...so know it's off to another Mobo cause they can't afford both...

Edit=correction I don't know if the warranty is voided but the Mobo is definitely not supported!

there has been a lot of debate whether 24 pin power supplies are neccesary or not, i will say for sure that there can be serious stability problems with PSUs on adapters.

I'd rather have 1 quality 20Pin to 24 Pin PSU then a junk 24 Pin and if there was that much of a problem why would PSU's include the adapter not to mention when the format goes over many 20Pin PSU's will just change the handle ...nothing inside.

Edit=Plus they better change their Manual cause it doesn't state 20-24Pin is 1 no go and 350 wt min?...sh8 I'd rather have a quality 20Pin ...but I guess the Engineers know WTF is up!

If they're saying their boards need 24 pin pure psu's, then the user is in no place to argue with them. It is their design, afterall. I don't know about any one else, but if I bought a board that said it needed a 24 pin pure psu, I'd buy one of those too.

It's not their fault that the user doesn't follow the instructions when it comes to power requirements, DFI are in the right both morally and legally (I don't know the itty bitty details, but if the user isn't doing what they say their product needs, then DFI are in the clear) with that one.

Sounds like they are trying to CYA. Probably just got too tired of people buying their thoroughbred motherboards and using them with their pony power supplies and having problems. Sure, some quality 20 pin units may work, but if someone bought a cheap case that came with a crappy 500W 20 pin PSU, then they can just point a finger at the 24 pin requirement instead of trying to explain to the guy that his 500W PSU doesn't really meet the 480W requirements. Not to say there can't be crappy 24 pin PSUs, but there seems to be few of them so far.

Ouch after reading that from dfi-street I get the feeling that dfi is saying "Put up or shut up". Not very nice at all
