WTF is this "150" PROJECTION TV KIT"? (eBay)

I remember seeing a website that showed the plans and how it worked, but cant find it. Anybody here try it? (granted, its ebay, but Im still curious :p)

Some lens that projects an enlarged image from a reglar tv, but the problem was something like it uses the light from the existing tv so ur projected image prolly wont be as bright...

Yeah, quality pretty much sucks. Think 70's projection TVs. Then think worse.

On the other hand....

If you use a flat screen PC monitor you'll get less curvature distortion. Can really adjust the heck out of the colors, and start with higher res than TV... Quality would still suck, but with tweaking might get it up to "hey that's pretty cool" level.

If someone sold decent 150" screens for cheap, dont you think you'd see a lot more people having them?

Still wouldn't be a bad dorm room project. Nice thing about dorm rooms is they usually don't have a lot of windows so it's easy to block light (and you need a DARK room for this to work). Downside is the room's small so you're going to be close. But I think you can make it smaller depending where you place the lens/screen. Other nice thing about dorm room projects is there's always someone you can sell the junk to when you get tired of it.

Heck, someone go for it.
