WTF is the point of Life Anyway?

For the first time in 3 months, my girl didn't call me tonight. But, its a good thing because it gives me time to focus on something I don't worry about usually, me.

Sometimes I wonder what the point of life really is. It's not like being a success is Rocket Science or takes some sort of friggin' degree.

In all reality, anyone can live there life by keeping the first decent job they find, sacrificing and living below their means (aside from one "insanity breaker" in my case the internet), shoving money in the bank like an obese person shoves food in their mouth, and then once they are financially stable find their bitch, get married (since finances is the major source of conflict statisically) and live a whoop-tee-do-da life.

I guess what I hate about this scenerio is it gives up all those magical little things you want to believe in when you are young and ignorant: The goodness of the human spirit, Love, and the Greater Good. Yes, stupid and very mythical concepts, but quite comforting for the troubled mind.

Am I right? Should I just say "F-it" and live this MMORPG style "template" for a life or "fight the power" and believe in something that, quite frankly, probably doesn't exist?

But seriously, I just did about 10 Google searches on "42" and could not find any relevant meaning. Would anyone like to help?

Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy I think. Google it. The answer to life, the universe, and everything. It's also another thread that I'm too lazy to link.

Anyways, sometimes I wonder what the point is too, but then I realize it's for me to enjoy it. And I don't live hedonist lifestyle by any means, I just try to enjoy it based on what I have.

Dude, if you question the meaning behind the goodwill of man and all that, why do you not question the meaning behind success?

It's not that I don't question it. I guess I just mean in the stereotypical 99% of the world terms, which I concede, have no choice but to be followed. I could question the meaning of alot more things but I don't even want to get into that, because I am simply not that deep anyway. Just kind of pointing out how life can be so easy, yet so hard. The emotional vs. the logical battles always captivate me, as I am usually involved in one at the time...

Well... Life to me is like, just a ride? You're in for the ride, so try to make the best out of everything, and try to contribute back to the world, because it all doesn't matter in the end.

Bootymac: That's what I'm talking about. "It doesn't matter in the end".

Somehow, that seems so true, and at the same time, feels so horribly wrong.

Then why contribute?

Because, life would cease to exist if people didn't.

No it wouldn't.

life existed before humans ever did, to say that we are the only important form of life is a little egotistical isn't it?
