The leaves on the ground are in focus but nothing of hte creature is in focus. even the feet which would be somewhat stationary.

Why is your username lanyap instead of lagniappe

When I decided to join AT I considered using Lagniappe since I was going to hang out in hot deals looking for "bakers dozen" deals but I knew most people would not know what it meant so I simplified it to Lanyap. I grew up and lived most of my life in the New Orleans area. :)

OK, checked with "my sources". The camera is most likely an infrared camera. This type of camera would detect heat. The "thing" in the picure is a man---the mouth, chest, and genital area show up as black because of the higher heat concentrations. Hair would not show up in the cold forest. The eyes are glowing because he's looking directl into the infrared light and it's reflecting off the backs of his eyes.

Well, hate to tell ya this, but we already have the answer as to what this all was. ;)

However, I would be curious to know exactly what they did for the photo. Was it all CG and just made to look like a real IR photo, or was it a physical prop/costume?
I'm guessing it was simply CG added to a real photo.

No, but you were a 10 year old kid with a wicked imagination.

I was with him. So was our friend. We all had the shit scared out of us. I don't specifically recall seeing it clearly, but I heard the noise and saw movement, then ran when my friend and brother did. They both saw it clearly.

We aren't easily spooked, either. We spent most of our childhood hanging out in the woods with no adults, often alone. Sometimes our dogs were roaming around on their own, so we expected to see activity, especially if the dogs disturb an animal. Wildlife, even of the dangerous kind, was irresistible. I can't tell you how many poisonous snakes we captured or killed (we just couldn't leave them alone).

We found a giant sinkhole in the ground about a half mile into the woods. What did we do? We dragged a long ladder out there and went in. Lots of animal skeletons...but it became our new "club house." This was AFTER we'd seen scary shit in the woods.

it looked fake from the get-go. the anatomical proportions and joints don't look correct. even if it was real, it should look like it makes sense or real anatomically.

Looks like I nailed it on my first guess earlier in this thread. Now, my 20 year old skunk ape sighting is NOT viral marketing.

lolwat? No you didn't.
How is saying this...
Probably viral marketing for the next Resistance game.
...not "nailing it" if it really did turn out to be viral marketing for the next Resistance game?
