Microsoft patents the body electric

According to Ars Technica, Microsoft has been granted patent number 6,754,472 for a "method and apparatus for transmitting power and data using the human body". Microsoft isn't the first to start tinkering with the idea of using the body as a power or data conduit however. Some time ago we mentioned a project by the name of ElectAura-Net. That project used "a combination of the electric field that emanates from humans and a similar field emanating from special floor tiles", through which you'd get internet connectivity while your body was in contact with the tiles.
