he doens't look too overweight to me, a bit chubby, but not obese. Most of the time he only offers what common sense would be, but that eludes most people today....

Don't watch that garbage... they seem to take ppls problems and then try to help them while making a mint along the way... if they were sincere they would be doing it free at halls and at shelters.

Just my opinion...

Please. Dr. Phil knows more than most of you morons ever will about psychology.

Of course, what do you expect from a place that's full of 15 - 25 year old virgin males? :p

You aren't exactly his target audience...

He's a far cry from a fit individual who can teach people about weight loss. AFAIK he's never been a fat ass who just lost weight and is now preaching how to do it, and since you know he looks bad with his shirt off I can't really see what credentials he has in all this. I heard that he preaches "Do what I say, not what I do." as if he's too thick to follow his own diet plan.

Anyway the thing with dr. phil is that the ladies love him. He says something and like rats to the pied piper they will follow his command. I'm sure his new book is junk, but the middle age housewives are buying it up in droves anyway.

OK, time for a moment of reality. Some weight issues in people are caused by emotional issues within themselves that may have been caused by issues in the past. For these "weight" issues, a psychologist might do more good for you than a diet - because you'll understand your issues and what triggers you to eat.

Now, with that off my chest, I can agree with the rest that is being said. WTF is Dr. Phil up to? But, remember, he's only going to be as successful as we let him. If we keep tuning into him and buying his books, he'll thrive.

Have you ever seen him with his shirt off? Link?

He was an athlete in college and high school. He played football and tennis. He still plays tennis every day. His sisters are both obese and he has said that if he didn't watch his weight carefully he would have problems keeping it off. His ideas about weightloss aren't just another diet. He is trying to teach people to figure out why they are obese, not just trying to sell them another diet plan. Not everyone is just a lazy ass who wants to be fat. Most of it comes from an emotional problem or attachment to something.

Have any of you people who are complaining about him ever read one of his books or watched more than 5 minutes of him on TV?

The truth is, many of them are too young to think about the things he says. It's like.. *whoosh*.. right over their heads.
