WTF is "Chunk Form"?

Never heard of chunk form.

Or was it a male teacher? I dunno, I automatically assumed it was a woman teacher.

If male, replace 'bitch' with 'dickface'.
 
It is teachers like this that cause kids to stop asking valid questions in the classroom. Then these kids suffer because they never want to acknowledge that they do not know something and look stupid in front of all their peers. I'd say it is your duty as a parent to at least talk to the teacher and find out why she felt it was prudent to belittle your kid instead of simply giving her the answer or telling her where to find it.

I love people that do this. I'm sorry but... I agree with you but... I didn't mean to but...

Threaten to take to the principal? Pfft, that's where I would start. Just because teachers are: blah blah blah doesn't give them a pass when the fail at their job miserably. You can't protect your kid from everything, like the things you DON'T know about. This apparently, the parent does know about. Sure it may not seem like a big deal, but when this is the last question the kid ever asks who loses, the teacher, parent or child?

Yes, waste your time parenting, because your kid is a "...little thing" to get upset about. :roll:

WTF. People who clean my garbage at work are underpaid too. Does that mean I won't complain if they dump a pile of garbage onto my head? No. Sorry, but bad teachers should not be cut any slack. In fact, I'd rather do the opposite. I think that teachers should be more accountable for stuff like this. Why should we pay teachers more if they behave like this?
 
You can't tell someone to RTFM when you are paid to explain TFM to them.

I would talk to that teacher, it is bad enough to be new in a country and a new school without having a teacher that willingly belittles you.

A teachers job is to teach, this teacher failed at doing her job.

This teacher is confusing a lesson plan with an education or something....

Seconded, beat the teacher with a dictionary/encyclopedia and ask her to point out the definition of 'chunk form.'

Then explain to her and the school's principal that if she makes your kid look foolish in front of the class again you'll take it to the board.

US born and raised and never have I heard of Chunk Form either. Stressed out or not I think what the teacher said was very unprofessional and downright rude. I bet the poor girl felt ashamed and stupid for no fault of her own.
 
First, never heard of chunk form. The name makes sense, I suppose, given the definition somebody posted.

Now on to the hot part of this thread... None of us were there so we don't know exactly how the conversation went. Honestly, the teacher might have said it in jest, for all we know. One MINOR (and this is super-minor people) incident is not cause to bring the house down on the teacher. If something like this happens again then maybe it's time to talk to the teacher.

You know it's possible the kid is being otherwise obnoxious, disrupting the class (apologies to the OP). Try being a teacher free of sarcasm in such a situation, I dare you.

Good point. I'm not exactly sure when/where it happened, whether it was in front of everyone or at the end of class privateishly.
 
If it helps, I came into this thread expecting a rant about chicken nuggets.

You need to instill some stubbornness and smart-ass-ness in her, though. Eventually the teacher would have to give in, then. GL, however it goes. I would have managed to piss that teacher off in very short order 🙂.
 
What a bitch. And for whoever said teachers are underpaid, none of my teachers that I have ever had were in it because they wanted to help kids, not get rich, she may have picked the wrong profession 😉
 
Never confuse 'Chunk Form' with 'Smooth Form' as the consistancy is completely different.
You can, however, do the entire report in Peanut Butter, but it CANNOT be with the 'smooth' kind.
