My Dad got it this past weekend and chewed me out because it was still slow as hell:|

I asked him WTF he expected @ $10.95 per month (earthlink)

He like looking at "ladies" online if you get my drift....

Server side compression. The simplest version compresses web page text losslessly, but it can also use lossy compression to shrink images (with quality loss).

It does nothing to speed up downloading a game patch or mod, iTunes song file, or other binary files except for the lossy image compression above.

You couldn't be more WRONG! It uses compression to make sites load faster. Basically what makes all the difference is the image compression. You can adjust how much you want it to compress. At the lowest setting it lowers all the images to like 16 colors and they really look bad. But it does make pages load way faster on dialup. And a lot of sites you don't really need the images. Most are just for navigation. You can right click on individual images and choose to load the original image.

But yes, it DOES work.
