wtf is a bz2 file

wtf is bz2 i found a sh!t load of these files on my computer and i deleted them. I searched the windows site and either found nothing or thier site is down

A bz2 file is a newer type of compression used in Unix style operating systems (much like a zip file).

o and some of the files were like ######.tar.bz2 now my dumbfvck brother runs fileshare appz all the time and ived use file servers on mirc but that was a long time ago. Im starting to think some one is trying to hack me or has successful done so. I have a firewall in my router and i just installed zone alarm.

yea i installed cygin o well that solves the .bz2 files but my computer did ack like someone was using netbus on it

BlackOmen is right, they're bzipped tar files. It's a new, but fairly common compression format used on unix machines.
