I don't remember the $1.50 Big Macs (well, maybe) but I do remember the $0.25 cheeseburger days. Fat times!

When they introduced the Big Mac, must have been in the early seventies, the local franchise ran a promotion where you'd get a free one if you could say the "two all beef patties..." jingle in some number of seconds. They also let you repeat, so we took home a sack full of them.

That guy's unit of measurement is a picture of him holding up a bun from 1986 and comparing it to him holding up the same bun in the same position. No shit it looks smaller, he got fatter so it looks smaller next to him now.

That may very well be true but to discount the idea that McDonald's is cutting sizes, just like every other company out there, is far fetched. Companies are downsizing more than just their workforces in this country. Wendy's might be the worst of the group right now (and Subway sandwiches are quite a bit smaller (diameter) than they were just a few years ago).

I'm with the crazy Aussie guy in the video who purchased half a bun. I would have loved to see that conversation.

They have got smaller.

I just got a big mac combo- I love their fries and got the large size. And I got a 4 pc nugget.

Wtf happened to Big Mac? It should be called small mac. The damn thing now fits in my small Asian hand.

I finished the whole thing and I'm still hungry. No I'm not fat- 180 lbs at 5'11".

Freaking spent $9.50 and not satisfied.

The burger didn't get smaller, you got bigger.

I don't know about Big Mac but the Quarter pounder* w/ cheese is still the same size. Quarter pounder combo with medium fries and medium Dr Pepper is what I get at McDonalds.

Giving the weight in the product is usually a dead giveaway as to what size the product will be! :p

*Before cooking

To cut costs, they can use lower quality/higher fat content beef(meat?)

Shareholders. Once a company goes public, its product turns to shit in order to cut the bottom line.

I never understood the McDonald's craze even as a kid/teenager. I thought the lunch/supper menu sucked, even to this day. Breakfast....OK for fast food. If every McDonalds burned down tomorrow I wouldn't even blink an eye let alone give two sh*ts.

Are you easily surprised or shocked? I swear every stupid thread you make starts out with WTF? You're Asian, you should be smarter and less surprised.

Spend $5 at In N Out and you'll probably not need to eat for the rest of the day, might even skip breakfast tomorrow too.

Yes, the big mac is really the small mac.

I prefer to go to burger places that use 1/2 pound patties, and usually I order the double cheese burger with bacon from those places. I get a good stout or belgian ale with the burger. Then, I also like to eat a pound of fries with cheese and chlilli and onions. Afterwards, I of course like to get a huge giant milkshake and then smoke a cigar and drink more beers.

Sadly, if I wanted to go to In N Out, I'd have to buy either get on a plane or drive a long way.
