Not a theme really, but I can never hit/shoot anyone in my dreams. I don't know what it is, its like I'm physically incapable of it.
Yeah. It's weird, in my dreams I try to run but I just can't run.... and I feel as though I'm a failure, and then I see a little 6 month old baby crawling by.
Then I try to shoot a basketball and the ball ogew forward and hits me in my face somehow....
Then I try to do hurdling (jumping over obstacles) and I forget to jump.

.... I can do all these things fine in real life... but what the hell?

I've had the running thing once, and it felt the exact same way as the punching thing (which is recurring). Its the most frustrating feeling, and its very odd.

(Plus several other examples, not quoted)

I wonder what it means. I can't run in my dreams, as well as 4-5 other people on that thread.....

And I know for a fact that dreams are a way for your brains to send messages out...so what's going on, what's this mean?

My theory: "I think im a failure at life, and I won't succeed" (dammit, I hate insulting myself...but whatever).

When I was in track and cross country, I'd always have dreams when I'm at a practice and couldn't run. I could walk, but not run.

Probably just your brain warning you about the onset of impotence that is occurring due to your cak not seeing any action. Time to kill some kittens.

I have dreams like that often. Someone is chasing me and I'm trying to run away, yet I'm running very sluggish. At the end I get access to a gun but it's either a bb gun or I'm not strong enough to pull the trigger. Anyone have anything like that?

I've had dreams where I've tried to run but it was just extremely difficult and I would hardly get any speed. Half of those times I just ended up flying which was much faster 😀

I figured this was a common problem 🙂. Yes! I'm not alone!

I had a dream once that I rescued a girl I had a crush on from drowning. Which was odd since she was on the swim team and I'm a pretty piss poor swimmer.

I used to have dreams all the time where I couldn't open my eyes... i was just kind of wandering around... I could barely crack them open and see what was going on, but that's it... :cookie: for me.

Happens all the time. Or when I'm fighting someone, when I punch them, my fist bends at the wrist like a limp punch. It never works. Lately though I've been starting to choke people out with a rear naked choke and it works like all the time.

ive had a few dreams where i wound up in a fight or being chased, or chasing someone and was very sluggish when attempting anything

Well the fact that your body is paralyzed during REM sleep might have something to do with it. Your body is sending signals to the legs telling them to run, they aren't responding because the body is paralyzed during REM sleep, so the brain responds accordingly in what it portrays in the dream.
