OK so I live in a stinky house my cat pisses on everything mostly items almost never on the carpet. :|

New problem:

Found my 2yo's sippy cup full of VERY OLD MILK right under our nice couch :Q that we watch our TV on. Can you say gross I should have taken pics but I have the flu so I had to take it outside and Barf as well. This was Sunday.

A little bit got onto the carpet and probably seeped into the foam. I cleaned it with soap and water first blotted and then used automotive cleaner (foam and brush) and scrubbed away, rinsed and blotted.

Still smells like crap Monday! :( I use OXYclean and try that now it is Tuesday I still have the flu and it makes me wanna puke! :Q:|

I have looked on the internet and it is a bunch of BS one said pour grape juice on it so it smells fruity other's are just trying to sell you a product. ACK!

What the heck can I do!!! </grabs barf bag>

You need to rip out that carpet and padding all the way to the wood dude. Gonna hafta get some new carpet. I spilled milk on my carpet about 10 years back... scrubbed and vaccumed and scrubbed for 2 hours. Came home after school the next day and my room REAKED!!! AWFUL!!!!!!! Had to get new carpet.

Don't use oxyclean, or any other cleaner besides "Kid and Pet Stain Remover" from walmart. It's an enzyme alcohol solution that will halt the process of decomposition (which is what is causing the smell, the milk's in your carpet, rotting). It's in a white bottle, with a blue top. It will work on the cat urine also.

Make sure you let it soak, so not blot it up. Let it soak, with a fan over the effected area. Try cleaning the rug first with a machine, then going over the area with the solution. The important part is that you douse everything the milk touched, using the whole bottle even if need be. It has to soak, and air dry to work.

I know this works, before my cat died, he lost bladder control on my brand new mattress. I took the thing outside, soaked up as much of the urine are possible, then used a whole bottle of the stuff and let it dry in the sun - you can't smell ANY urine.

Gonna go get some of this I heard alcohol or alcohol based stuff might do the job. I am also going to rent a Nautavac soon as well just in case i spilled any drips on the carpet on the way out the back screened door! :(
