What the freaking hell was wrong w/ the original twin tower design!?
Having two towers soar into the air is much more friggin impressive then a stupid-looking assortment of wierd geometrical shapes topped off by an ugly freedom tower.
I like symmetry and balance. that tower gives me a headache by just looking at it.
AND wtf is wrong w/ the name? Why "FREEEDOM tower!!"???
why not some more conventional cool name? ya ya it represents our freedom and what not. At least name it something else... howabout naming after the group of investers who made it, or whatever. just a more practical name.
I want the NYC skyline to get back to what it was before. There was something awesome about having 2 towers soar into the sky than 1. I was far more impressed by lookin up towards two towers than i was impressed by looking up Sears tower, or John Hancock, etc.
I'm pretty damn sure that those who have been to the awesome city of NYC, and have been to the WTC area will agree w/ me. The NYC skyline was truly one of a kind, and the Twin Towers made it awesome.
It's seem like pussyfying to me IMHO. having two, slightly taller skyscrapers >>> one stupid lone skyscraper surrounded by wierd biuldings that look like an Englishman's assortment of teeth..

something I really agree on:
NYC has its own art-decco/gothic/industrial/marble+glass style.

At least the design they stuck with looks better than the original entries. It doesn't fit though, it is like they are trying to put a Hong Kong building in NYC, and it doesn't fit. Same if they put The Empire State building in Hong Kong, it would look off.
2 giant blocks aren't very interesting in terms of architecture though. Their shear size was the only thing that made them stand out at all.
