I wouldn't worry. Comcast expects to have their own network in place by that time. I wouldn't buy a cable modem right now, though. Just rent.

It's running untill Feb so Comcast can get their own network running AFAIK

Comcast = AT&T, Comcast owns MediaOne as well. Comcast isn't affected by it at all.

They are 2 seperate companies, comcast has said their own network should be up and running before the deadline.
