so, i ordered a camera and a camera bag from dell on the 20th.... talked to the rep, he said both items would get to me before the 4th of july. i went online today and checked my order status, and they shipped the bag to me today from CALIFORNIA, of all places (i'm in austin, dell's in austin...). and to top it off, the camera's status is stated as "Delayed until 7/02"! how the hell am i supposed to get the camera before the 4th, if the order is delayed till the 2nd?

and what the hell am i supposed to do with only the camera bag?

<--- is very pissed off at the moment. dell's customer service reps are going to get a very angry call from me tomorrow.
 
Walmart sells those one-time-use disposable cameras with flash (hot deal!) for like $5. Buy one.

Sorry that you didn't order sooner. Dell's Overnight Shipping takes a month. Welcome to reality.
 
pay for faster shipping? Or you can buy the camera at your local store and return it?

hmm... the buy / return thing sounds interesting...

and i have a direct number to one of the CSRs in austin, so that helps.

Dude, I feel your pain. About a week ago I ordered an S400 from dell durring all the good deals. Ship date was 7-05 or something like that. Order got canceled. Got reinstated. Checked ship date... pushed back to 8-07 🙁 Oh well. One thing to remember, be nice to the csr's. Not their fault. Plus they're always alot more likely to give you some love if you don't act like they're responsible for all your problems.

You do realize that Dell doesn't own a shipping company, right? If they shipped via UPS, one of their hubs is in California. ALL package on the western side of the US ship through Cali. There is one in Kentucky too....

It isn't under their control.

as for the cam, Dell sucks at their estimates. Next time you'll know better.
