Cats are domesticated. That's why it's such a shock. Maybe in China they're less domesticated. It's just a cultural difference. I, for one, am totally against eating cats or dogs, for that matter. But if you like eating cats, I'm not going to stop you or make a new thread denouncing you.

Cats and Dogs are 'helper animals' -- that is, we as a society have a feeling of indebtedness to animals that do work (other than being food) for us, and see eating said animals as a bad thing. I see reason in that, but realisticlly, there are many better reasons to condemn a society (see: stoning women for showing their ankles)
I agree with that. But you can't just blow off what you see as a wrong (e.g. eating cats) because there are more serious wrongs. That's like saying, forget about stopping rape for now. We need to stop murder.
I have no problems with them eating cats, and I guess dogs too (though I'm much more partial to dogs) as long as they kill them in a humane way, which afaik they certainly do not. It's about as far from humane as you can get.
It's just a cultural difference.(Wiping ass with hand was a different issue as those people walk around with asswiping hands touching things that I touch)
