WTF Apple is suing a teen for leaking info on the Mac Mini

This happens all the time. Apple is tight lipped about upcoming products.

They need the publicity, though. It is kinda like biting the hand that feeds you.

Most people didn't hear about the Mac Mini until (after?) the keynote. I personally didn't believe the rumors.

Apple did not need the publicity, and there was not enough of it to make a difference.

The kid goes to my school! Wow I'm surprised I haven't heard about it before. Of course I almost never read the school newspaper, "The Crimson," mentioned in that article.

QUICK! TAKE A PICTURE OF HIM NEXT TIME! Act like the paparazzi!

Lol, if I meet him, I'll donate some money for his legal fund.

If Apple had whoever leaked it sign a NDA for it, they should sue the guy who leaked it. Anyone who got the info should not be subject to any legal action. Unfortunately, our IP laws favor everyone but the people paying for the P that is made from the IP.

Apple declined to answer questions Friday about whether it would now sue Ciarelli himself

Doesn't sound like they're suing anyone, just a website. 😛

Nothing will come of this, except people might be a bit more scared of posting Apple secrets.

this is stupid of apple. these rumors cause there stock to skyrocket. just before the macworld expo there stock shot up alot. granted this would still happen without the rumors i believe the rumors help fuel this alot. they rumor that there will be a huge new product release and it feeds the fire so to speak

So you think employees that violate their NDAs are the hands that feed Apple?

The CNN article linked is misleading and doesn't go into very much detail. If you take the time to read up on the specifics of the suit and on CA laws regarding trade secrets you come away w/a very different picture than the sensationalist tid-bit on CNN.

Which Mac Fanboy site does he work for? NM, thinksecret. Yeah, this was all over at macrumors last week, which should change their name to nomacrumors.
