WTF? Amazon ships on Sunday?

Just got a email notifying me that my amazon order shipped today. I've never seen a online retailer ship on Sundays. Brownie points++ for amazon.

They probably shipped it about 50 feet, from the warehouse shelf to the receiving door.

Pick up won't be till tomorrow since all the major couriers (USPS, UPS, FEDEX, Airborne) have Sunday's off.

This brings up a question. At what point will one of the major couriers start to work on Sundays? It would be a major selling point for them. I bet one of them does it eventually.

There is USPS Express Mail but you're getting overnight service on top of the Sunday delivery. But there'd have to be a huge overhaul of unions if any of the couriers make Sunday delivery a part of the standard services.
