i called Antec and they said they ONLY use Antec psupplies and dont know what codegen is and dont know how it got there and cant help me
so i took the case to best buy. first they told me i had to take it to the tech guys, cuz the csr knew nothing about what i was talking about. then they said there might be a problem cuz i bought the case about 2 months ago (over the 30 day or 14 day limit), and i didnt have a receipt, although i did have credit card i bought it on and credit card statement showing date of purchase. then they tried to replace it with another antec case, because this one i got had been on clearance and i got the last one. but i had grabbed one of the 350w smart power psu's and explained that this was what was supposed to come in the case and why not just give me this (in retrospect, perhaps i should have taken one of the new cases? but i knew nothing about them and wasnt prepared for that option). of course, i had paid $55 for the case + psupply, and they were selling just the psupply for $65 alone, so they had to go open one of the new antec cases and double check that an antec psupply came with it. then they gave me the swap.
it may sound like a hassle, but i was actually pretty satisfied with the experience, it just took about 30 minutes to get done. i had to talk to like 5 different people, including 2 managers, but there was no arguing or confrontational-ness, they were just being thorough with a lot of making-sure, but were all friendly and helpful through out, i didnt have to explain anything more than once they took me at my word. i was surprised at how easy it was
still not sure how the codegen got in there, the box appeared to be in brand new packaging, and best buy insisted it was not opened box or anything. antec doesnt use codegen, so only conlcusion i can guess is that someone bought it and was very careful to reseal it perfectly and claim it was unopened when they returned it
