wtf? 2004 prerunners only come automatic?

Anyone know why? I want a V6 Prerunner with a 5 spd manual. Why would toyota NOT offer this option on a TRUCK?
 
I think the newer ones do. BTW, I love my 2004 Prerunner! Not sure I'd want a manual in a truck anyways unless I was racing it or was doing some serious 4x4'ing and needed the flexibility.
 
The only tacoma model that is 2wd, V6 and manual transmission is the S-Runner between 2001-2004 and the X-Runner >=2005
