WTF? 20 students stabbed at Pennsylvania High School

What the hell is wrong with people?

Twenty students were injured after a stabbing attack, apparently by a male student, at a Pennsylvania high school on Wednesday, and four of the victims were flown to area hospitals, officials said.

The suspected attacker, a student at the school, was in custody, local media reported, citing police.

The incident occurred at Franklin Regional High School in Murrysville, about 20 miles east of Pittsburgh.

It wasn't clear if all the victims were students, or if any were injured in the scramble to get away from the knife-wielding attacker.

"The students' conditions seem to be non-life threatening. It's important that parents realize the scene is contained, the students that are here are safe," Dan Stevens, deputy emergency management coordinator for the Westmoreland County told reporters.

The school district posted an emergency message on its website on Wednesday.

"A critical incident has occurred at the high school," the message said. "All elementary schools are canceled, the middle school and high school students are secure."

Problem is most of the time it's elected mental health care. Somebody who is very depressed or who suffers from other mild mental illness can't be forced into getting therapy or tkaing medication. Only somebody who is truely out of their mind would likely be forced into getting help. And that's likely only after they've committed a crime or are a minor and forced by parents.

Basically there's no real solution to the problem with out an extreme measure- which will piss tons of people off...

you can't force an adult to take medication or get therapy. so unless they want help they won't get it. many do not even beleive they need help at all.

I think you have it backwards. People with mild mental illness who only need counseling, get prescribed bullshit rat-poison SSRIs and other psycho-active chemicals, which exacerbate the problem.

Looks like everyone is going to survive. In contrast if he had a gun the high chance is at least one person would have been killed. It doesn't change the severity of what happened, but it does draw some comparisons to if this attack would have happened with a gun.

one story i read was he only stabbed 12 the others were hurt fleeing.

I hope those that got stabbed come out of it allright.

no matter what you do you can't stop crazy. They will stab, shoot, or worse build bombs.

I'm watching CNN and it makes me sick. These reporters almost seem SAD that no one has life threatening injuries or is dead. What a bunch of fucking sickos.

The automatic ceiling-mounted turret guns in Half Life did a good job of....well, shooting almost anything.

It would get the kids involved in robotics, vision sensing, motion control, and physics.

The guy is a star! I guarantee you CNN and FOX will have this kids life story. We will know everything about him. His victims? I'm probably not going to remember any of the names.

Look at the mass shootings in the past. Columbine, Virgina Tech, Aurora, and Sandy Hook. I can name all the monsters, but I can't name one of the victims.

These people are given way too much press.
