Ok, I just got a TI4400 and ran the new 3dmark03, my system is:

Athlon XP 1800+
Asus Nforce 2 MB
Geforce 4 TI4400
1 gig Pc2100 DDR

I have the latest Nvidia drivers, I dunno what the deal is, why am I only getting under 2k 3dmarks? Anyone have any ideas? maybe I need to adjust some settings or something.

Well, you gotta remember that 3DMark2003 is a DIrectX 9.0 benchmark and considering that yours and my GeForce4-Ti4400 is 'only' a DirectX 8.1 card it can't run some of the tests as our cards don't support it. I only get 1850 with my 2.5GHz Athlon XP and my GeForce4-Ti4400 oc'ed to 330/650. Stick to 3DMark2001 and don't worry about 3DMark2003 until you get a DirectX 9-compliant GPU like the RADEON 9500/9600/9700/9800 or a GeForce FX 5200/5600/5800/5900.;)

If you can run 3Dmark2003, then you would be able to run 3Dmark2001 SE just fine. DX9 is backward compatible with DX8 i think.

Yet another person who doesn't seem to realize that "2001" and "2003" are two totally different numbers. Do you direct-compare 3DMark2000 to 2001 results as well?

Go get the 3DMark2001 Build 330 patch from the FutureMark website to make 3DMark2001 work with DX9.

I get 1610 3Dmarks w/ my R8500 @ 280/280 and 2000+ @ 1.75. CPU speed doesn't do as much for 3Dmark03 as it did for 2K1 SE. The score is largely in the GPU's performance. You'll definately get better scores than me in 2K1 SE. That's where the Ti range of nVidia cards flex their muscles. I get 9600 3Dmarks. But I wouldn't worry too much about your '03 scores, most current games don't punish GPUs like that benchmark does. But if you want eye candy (AA and AF) in current games, you'd be better off upgrading to a radeon 9500 Pro or nvidia FX 5600 ultra and above.

I run 3dmark2001 on my DX9 based system.. :)

btw, 1,500 (rough) 3dmarks on a ti4400 in '03 is not too bad.
