There must've been thousands of wallets and purses found on site... so did all those family members of lost ones have to call all their credit card companies (or whatever) and cancel everything ?

I've often also wondered what happens with unpaid statements when a person dies...

I won't even touch that first one. Far as unpaid bills/etc after death, there's usually an insurance clause built into your annual fees & premiums. Generally, your corporate debt dies with you. Personal ones are another story.
