Story here. Searched for "rebuild", story didn't pop up...

<< Although Silverstein said he is ready to rebuild, he did say he is not committed to creating exact replicas of the towers, acknowledging tenants may be reluctant to relocate in such prominent buildings, according to the paper. >>

adding that the 99-year lease is insured against terrorism.

Wonder what insurance company insured that.

But i'm curious to what he's going to build... i wonder if it would be anything as prominent.

the buildings weren't insured against war, so they don't like this war talk. i support building something really tall there, even if not office space, a towering monument would be nice.

The towers should definitely be rebuilt. Show them that we are not defeated in anyway. Make them taller and bigger then before.

Money? Those towers are practiclly free ... The only thing expensive about them is the land they're on. Property Damage is negligeble, if you ask me, in comparison to human tragedy.

Maybe we should ask Bill Gates for a loan.....they were $400 million a piece at build in the 70s...i'm sure he's got 2 billion laying around to help :)

But yes...please rebuild them, bigger and taller then before!

I think the saudis will probable pay, or we can take out bin laden and confiscate all his property, use it to rebuild :)

Who would actually work in a second WTC? I mean, if your'e a survivor of 2 WTC bombings, i highly doubt you'll work in another... i know i sure wouldn't.

I dunno, it might show resilience, but it'll give them a bigger target to hit in the future. And no matter what kind of construction is done short of SAM sites sticking out of the new building, crashing a 767 or two into ANY building will bring it down.

I think rebuilding them would be senseless. Would YOU want to work there?? Build some kind of memorial...

memorial? the land is too valuable for that

I think a very nice idea would be two slightly taller and more elegant towers :)

Definitely a good idea to rebuild. And the land is way to valuable... this guy paid $3.2 billion just to lease the towers for 99 years! The insurance company for the towers... err... well, they're out a lot of money
